A nonprofit does not have to qualify at a mission level to receive CRA support. While certain organizations have a mission that clearly meets the requirements of CRA, many organizations do not.
If a nonprofit’s mission is not CRA-focused, it may still have programs or services that meet CRA requirements. For example, a nonprofit’s mission may be to support arts awareness in the community for all citizens. That mission doesn’t qualify for CRA. However, if that same nonprofit has programs focused on at-risk youth or job creation programs benefitting low-income people, those programs would qualify for CRA consideration.
At findCRA, our goal is to provide equal access to all nonprofits that are mission and/or program qualifying for CRA.
