HUD: Disaster Aid Offered to Florida Storm Victims

Federal aid supports state, tribal and local recovery for August 2024 Hurricane Debby

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the implementation of federal disaster assistance for the state of Florida and ordered Federal aid to supplement State, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Debby beginning on August 1, 2024, and continuing.

On August 10, President Biden  issued  a major disaster declaration for Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Manatee, Sarasota, Suwannee, and Taylor counties, which includes grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover.
