HUD: Aid Offered to South Carolina Disaster Victims

Federal aid supports counties of Aiken, Anderson, Bamberg, Barnwell, Cherokee, Greenville, Greenwood, Lexington, Newberry, Oconee, Pickens, Saluda, and Spartanburg.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today announced the implementation of federal disaster assistance for the State of South Carolina and ordered federal aid to supplement State, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene beginning on September 25, 2024, and continuing.

President Biden issued a major disaster declaration in the counties of Aiken, Anderson, Bamberg, Barnwell, Cherokee, Greenville, Greenwood, Lexington, Newberry, Oconee, Pickens, Saluda, and Spartanburg.

The President’s action makes Federal funding available to affected individuals in the counties of Aiken, Anderson, Bamberg, Barnwell, Cherokee, Greenville, Greenwood, Lexington, Newberry, Oconee, Pickens, Saluda, and Spartanburg.
