LHOME is Louisville’s newest emerging Community Development Financial Institution
Brian Waters, President and Co-Founder of findCRA, has joined the Advisory Board for LHOME, an emerging Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) serving Louisville. As a member of the Advisory Board, Brian will work with LHOME and other community leaders to identify opportunities to support affordable housing, small business development, entrepreneurship, refugees and other needs in the city.
“I’m honored to join the Advisory Board of LHOME and support an organization focused on critical needs in our community,” said Brian Waters. “As an entrepreneur and native Louisvillian, I look forward to advising LHOME on new strategies, lending programs and other opportunities it creates to support underserved neighborhoods and citizens throughout our community.”
LHOME is an emerging CDFI and exists to fill a gap in low-interest lending and capacity building for individuals wanting to live, work and build wealth in low-income areas throughout Louisville. The organization is already making a difference by offering property tax loans for homeowners needing assistance, small business loans for low-income refugees, working capital loans to support minority contractors in building affordable housing and loans to nonprofits servicing low-income families and individuals. The organization is on track to achieve CDFI certification from the CDFI Fund of the U.S. Treasury in 2018.
