Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $738,100 grant to the Flagship Enterprise Center of Anderson, Indiana, to expand the Flagship Manufacturing Center and provide a boon to businesses in the region. According to grantee estimates, the project is expected to create or retain more than 125 jobs and spur $5.6 million in private investment.
“We commend the Flagship Enterprise Center for its innovative strategy to generate new economic opportunities throughout Indiana,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary for Regional Affairs Dennis Alvord. “This project will allow the Flagship Manufacturing Center to expand operations, giving entrepreneurs and local businesses access to the tools they need to grow and thrive.”
This investment will help construct a new manufacturing floor at an already existing manufacturing center operated by the Flagship Enterprise Center. The new jobs that will be fueled by the expansion will include engineers and manufacturing technicians that will help accelerate the economic revitalization of the region.
