The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $615,000 grant to the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority of Brunswick, Maine, to repair and upgrade sanitary sewer pumps needed to support industrial and commercial business development in the community.
“We commend the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority for working to generate economic opportunities by improving facilities to attract new businesses,” said Deputy Assistant Secretary for Regional Affairs Dennis Alvord. “This project will provide the necessary infrastructure to create hundreds of new jobs in Maine.”
Specifically, this project will repair and upgrade three sanitary sewer pump stations that serve approximately 281,000 square feet of a former military facility. Electrical services, generator hook-ups, pump installation, and new piping all will help the facility repurpose for industrial and commercial use, attracting new business development.
