Today the U.S. Census Bureau published new data for Puerto Rico as part of the 2017 Economic Census of Island Areas. This program provides comprehensive information on employer businesses in American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
These data for Puerto Rico include:
- Data at the 2-digit through selected 5-digit North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) industries for Puerto Rico and its municipios.
- Detailed data on the products and services provided by businesses in Puerto Rico on the new North American Product Classification System (NAPCS) basis.
- Other related business statistics, including data by business size and legal form of organization.
These Puerto Rico data mark the completion of the 2017 Economic Census of Island Areas. For more information on the NAPCS data and how the newly released data compares with 2012 data, view the recorded webinar What is the NAPCS? An Overview of the Recently-Released NAPCS Data From the Economic Census. Later this month, this site will be updated with information about a webinar specifically on Economic Census of Island Areas data coming in mid-January.
