ABA: ABA, Federal Reserve and OCC Leaders to Address Community Bankers at ABA Conference; Livestream Available February 17th and 18th

ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols, ABA Chair and Atlantic Union Bankshares CEO John Asbury, Federal Reserve Governor Michelle Bowman, San Francisco Fed President Mary C. Daly and Acting Comptroller of the Currency Rodney E. Hood will address community bankers from across the country at the American Bankers Association’s Conference for Community Bankers next week in Phoenix. ABA will livestream conference general sessions on its X handle @ABABankers.

ABA will livestream the conference’s general sessions next Monday, Feb. 17 and Tuesday, Feb. 18 beginning at approximately 10:05 a.m. ET each day (see full schedule below). The event will kick off on Monday with a welcome from Jennifer Jones, chair of ABA’s Community Bankers Council and president and CEO of CBL State Savings Bank, followed by remarks from ABA Chair and Atlantic Union Bank CEO John Asbury. After that, Fed Governor Bowman will deliver prepared remarks on the economy, regulatory outlook and other topics.

The livestream on Tuesday will begin with remarks from ABA President and CEO Rob Nichols on how the association is working to support community banks and advance a pro-community banking policy agenda in Washington followed by remarks from Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco President Mary C. Daly on the importance of community banks. After her remarks, Daly will join Nichols for a fireside chat, where they will discuss the economy, as well as challenges and opportunities facing community banks. The general session will close with Acting Comptroller of the Currency Rodney E. Hood joining Nichols to share his perspective on key banking policy issues affecting community banks and his top priorities for 2025. The conversation will be Acting Comptroller Hood’s first public appearance in his new role.

This annual gathering of community bankers provides attendees with an opportunity to discuss important issues facing the nation’s smaller banks, as well as the chance to forge and grow valuable connections with peers across the industry. In addition, attendees will be the first to learn the results of ABA’s latest Core Platforms Survey, which will provide a real-time snapshot of the current relationship between America’s banks and their core providers. The survey, which features direct input from bankers as well as members of the core provider community, will be released on Feb. 18. The session will also feature a panel with bankers focusing on why a bank’s technology strategy must align with its business strategy, and what banks can do to prepare for what’s coming as the core provider landscape evolves over the next few years.
